Lead with a warm, low-pressure opener
You do not need a clever line. A friendly, genuine opener works far better than anything rehearsed.
A simple “Hey, how’s your evening going?” or “Hi! Where are you tuning in from?” does the job — it is warm, it is easy to answer, and it hands the other person an obvious way to reply. A smile and a relaxed tone matter more than the exact words. Remember there is a real person on the other side who is probably a little nervous too.
